PROJECTS
MEMBERSHIP

The membership committee is in charge of recruiting members, or volunteers, and filling positions for all fund raising events.
COMMUNICATION
​
​
Responsible for publishing a HSA Newsletter, updating bulletin boards and the website. Other responsibilities is advertising activities to the local media about HSA activities and help produce a Yearbook for students.
SCHOLARSHIP
​
​
In charge of identifying deserving students and providing funds for enrichment classes outside of school. (Arts, Sports, etc.) Also responsible for detemining families in need and helping to find resources
HOSPITALITY
​
​
In charge of welcoming new parents/families, producing a welcome packet, organizing Kindergarten Open House, and Back to School Night.
GREENING LEA (GARDEN)
​
​
Working on improving, maintaining, and expanding the Lea Peace Garden. Also working with West Philly Coalition for Neighborhood School on Greening Lea project.
FUND RAISING - SCHOOL PROJECTS

​
Collaborating with school administration to help with organizing for school projects such as Communication Board, and volunteer activities. Facilitating needs requested by Principal and Leadership Team. Also responsible for developing and selling Spirit Wear.
EDUCATION/CLUBS
​
​
Responsible for helping provide materials and resources to support literacy at the school. Also charged with developing clubs and activities for parents/students like Chess Club, or Science Club.
BILINGUAL RESOURCE CENTER
​
Organizes and supports needs of English Second Language parents and families. Translation services for important documents and navigating resources. Working with resources like T.I.M.B.A. to support the Francophone Disapora.
